This technical guide has been rescinded.  Current Army framework guidance for health risk management during deployment operations can be found in the policies and implementing guidance listed below.

The ​TG248 (published in 2001) introduced processes and tools that could be used to make appropriate decisions based on medical threats.  It was written for preventive medicine personnel who were assigned the task of providing deployment health risk assessments to the commander based on Occupational and Environmental Hazard and Endemic Disease (OEH/ED) surveillance.
