The Defense Centers for Public Health – Aberdeen (DCPH-A) provides entomological and pest management resources and information to advance the readiness and health of DoD personnel and communities. As a multi-directorate team, we focus on the development of standardized vector surveillance data monitoring tools, pesticide use/resistance monitoring, commercial off the shelf testing of surveillance equipment, specialized training needs, and the development of knowledge products. We also provide tick identification and tick-borne pathogen testing services for ticks removed from DoD Beneficiaries through our Military Tick Identification/Infection Confirmation Kit (MilTICK) Program.
