Combat readiness and Service member health are enhanced through the systematic surveillance of deployed and non-deployed population medical disease data such as reported medical events (RME).
Surveillance data can show trends, high threat areas/hazards, and whether interventions (such as vaccines or procedures) are needed and/or effective at reducing threats.
Interpretation of surveillance data relies on accurate and complete reporting of medical conditions at the local level. DHA provides resources to support the quality, completeness and standardization of local military medical reporting and epidemiology.
