Sample Management Section

This section is the first point of entry of all analytical samples into the laboratory and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).  Essential laboratory measurements, such as sample temperature, volume, and pH, are performed in this section to ensure viability of analytes being tested.  It is within this section that all requested corrections are made before samples are processed for analyses.

Method Development Section

This section identifies and evaluates emerging technologies to support field-site environmental laboratory operations.  We perform market analysis and develop marketing strategies in concert with the AIPH mission and goals.  We identify and implement new method development needs and guide the work of approved projects. Conduct periodic IPRs on new technologies and methods for the entire command.

Molecular Biology Section

This section is comprised of method development, validation, and consultation in the use and application of field bio-surveillance (BSV) platforms for detecting and quantifying biological agents with potential risk to public health.  This laboratory also performs routine and seasonal, PCR-based testing for the DoD's Human Tick Test Kit Program  in support of the Entomology Section of the Environmental Health Engineering Portfolio.
