Target Audience
This course is open to all military, DOD civilians, and contractors supporting the DOD. The target audience includes environmental managers, environmental health personnel, environmental services personnel, logistics personnel. It also includes personnel, and their supervisors, that generate, handle, or dispose of solid waste, hazardous materials, hazardous waste, pharmaceuticals, and regulated medical waste, such as pharmacists, veterinarians, laboratory personnel, nurses and doctors.
Description

This 4-hour course is a self-study course. Students must have a CAC card to enroll in the course. A minimum score of 75% must be achieved on the final exam to receive a completion certificate.

This course provides an overview of waste management requirements in military healthcare and medical research facilities. Key environmental laws and regulations that affect the proper management of hazardous and medical wastes are reviewed. Training topics include hazardous materials management; hazardous waste identification, management and disposal; regulated medical waste management; environmental auditing; waste management in the field, and more. The concepts taught in this training will aid personnel in complying with the law and help to successfully manage wastes from “cradle to grave”.
