​​​​​​​​​​BSHOP Mission: Provide the U.S. military with evidence-based behavioral and social health information to inform prevention and risk mitigation strategies, public health interventions, and policies that enhance the behavioral and social health and well-being of individuals, units, and military communities.

BSHOP Vision: Serve as the premier source for evidence-based information on the epidemiology of behavioral and social health in the U.S. military.

About the BSHOP: The BSHOP is a unique public health program within the Department of Defense (DoD) focusing on the epidemiology of behavioral and social health.

BSHOP's multidisciplinary team conducts public health studies using analytical methods of population-level primary and secondary data to identify patterns, and risk and protective factors associated with non-medical factors that influence health outcomes to include: suicidal behavior, mood disorders, and substance misuse.​
