Description

This 1-hour instructor-led special topic webinar provides information on managing waste hazardous drugs (HD) in health care settings. HDs are defined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), and HD wastes must be carefully managed to prevent harm to people and the environment. The webinar focuses on identification and management of waste HD pharmaceuticals, including chemotherapy trace and bulk waste, and will highlight the difference between HDs and hazardous wastes.

Class start/end times are listed in Eastern Standard Time (EST).

Prerequisites
Although not a requirement, students should have a basic understanding of hazardous waste characteristics and/or have taken the Pharmaceutical Waste Management Class
