Description
This 90-minute instructor-led special topic webinar provides information on managing controlled substance (CS) pharmaceutical waste in a pharmacy, medical treatment facility, or veterinary clinic setting. The webinar focuses on identification of CS pharmaceuticals, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) requirements and definitions, and management/disposal options for wastage, stock, and household pharmaceuticals, including commercial products used for CS disposal. Because DEA does not have jurisdiction outside the U.S., this webinar is applicable to facilities within CONUS and Puerto Rico. Webinar start/end times are listed in Eastern Standard Time (EST).
Prerequisites
Although not a requirement, students should have a basic understanding of hazardous waste identification and management requirements and/or have taken the Pharmaceutical Waste Management Class.
